What Is Puppy Yoga?
Everything You Need to Know

By the Paws & Flo Team  ·  13 June 2026  ·  5 min read

You've seen the photos. A room full of people mid-warrior pose, with tiny fluffy puppies scrambling across their mats. It looks chaotic, adorable, and frankly a little too good to be true. So what actually happens in a puppy yoga class, and is it right for you? Here's everything you need to know before you book.

So, what exactly is puppy yoga?

Puppy yoga is a guided yoga session held alongside a group of friendly, sociable puppies who roam freely around the room. You move through yoga poses at your own pace, and the puppies do whatever puppies do: explore, play, nap on your mat, and occasionally climb on you mid-downward dog.

It's part mindful movement, part animal therapy, and part pure joy. Think of it as your usual yoga class, but with a lot more warmth and the occasional wet nose nudging your elbow.

"We came for the puppies. We stayed for how it made us feel."

What happens in a Paws & Flo session?

Each session at Paws & Flo is 65 minutes long and designed to be welcoming, low-pressure, and completely beginner-friendly. Here's how it flows:

A session, step by step

  • 1
Arrival & settle in Arrive a few minutes early, roll out your mat, and get acquainted with the puppies before class begins.
  • 2
Guided yoga flow (45 mins) A gentle, all-levels session led by our instructor. No prior experience needed and modifications are always offered.
  • 3
Free puppy play (20 mins) The final stretch is pure playtime. Cuddle, photograph, and soak up every last moment with the pups.

Our sessions are currently held at 52 Jalan Benaan Kapal, Level 1, Singapore 399642 — a calm, purpose-suited space that's easy to get to and designed to help you switch off the moment you walk in.

Who are the puppies?

Every session has its own little moment like this.

Every puppy that joins a Paws & Flo session has been carefully selected for their calm and sociable temperament. Past sessions have featured Maltipoos, Pomeranians, Japanese Spitzes, and Dachshunds, just to name a few. Each one is well-rested and cared for before and after class.

We take puppy welfare seriously. Sessions are kept intentionally small so there's never too much noise or stimulation, and the puppies are always free to rest when they need to.

Why do people love it?

The benefits go further than you might expect. Spending time with animals has been shown to trigger the release of oxytocin, the feel-good bonding hormone, while yoga itself is well-known for reducing cortisol, improving flexibility, and calming the nervous system. Put the two together and it makes for a genuinely powerful reset.

What people say after their first session

The most common thing people tell us is that they walked in not knowing what to expect, and walked out feeling lighter than they had in weeks. There's something about being fully present with a curious little pup that makes everything else fade out for a while.

The room has a way of making everyone relax, fast.

It's also one of the most social experiences you can book in Singapore. Whether you come solo, with a friend, or as a group, the shared silliness of navigating yoga poses around tiny curious puppies tends to break the ice almost immediately.

Common questions

Do I need yoga experience?

Not at all. Sessions are designed for all levels, including complete beginners. The instructor guides you through every pose and modifications are always available. The puppies don't care about your form either.

Are the puppies safe to interact with?

Yes. Every puppy in our sessions is selected for their calm, friendly temperament and is well-socialised before joining a class. We keep group sizes small to make sure the environment stays relaxed for everyone.

What if I'm allergic to dogs?

If you have a dog allergy, we recommend checking with your doctor before booking. We can't guarantee an allergen-free environment, so it's worth being cautious.

Can I bring my own dog?

Paws & Flo sessions currently feature our own puppy partners. This helps keep the environment calm and consistent for everyone. Keep an eye on our page for any special open sessions.

How do I book?
